Investigating road improvements

Investigations into two potential improvements across Canberra’s road network will get underway this year.

We are investigating options to improve traffic flow on the 1.6 kilometre section of Tharwa Drive between the Woodcock Drive/Box Hill Avenue roundabout and Pockett Avenue in Banks. This project is a feasibility study and will include traffic modelling, geotechnical investigations and concept design. In improving traffic flow we will also investigate improving safety at the intersections and providing better active travel links via shared paths and on-road cycle lanes. Visit the Tharwa Drive page for more information.

Detailed design work for the proposed extension of Nudurr Drive from Grampians Street to Gungahlin Drive was completed in 2010 and this project will review this work and undertake traffic modelling, considering recent land use zoning changes to determine the importance and appropriateness of this extension. Visit the Nudurr Drive page for more information.
