Meet Senior Ranger Jasmine from DAS

Meet Ranger Jasmine from Domestic Animal Services

Ranger

If you have been one of the many Canberrans who have adopted a dog through Domestic Animal Services, you have probably seen Senior Ranger Jasmine.

Jasmine has worked at Domestic Animal Services since March 2018. Jasmine’s love for animals saw her transition from an Administration Assistant to a Ranger and then eventually a Senior Ranger!

Jasmine loves the diversity of her role and the way she gets to help the Canberra community: “I love what I do and enjoy making a difference, not only in the lives of people, but also that of the animals. Seeing a dog find a new loving home is a constant reminder of what I do this for.” She even has a rescue dog of her own.

Her role as a Senior Ranger is to provide high quality customer service, promote responsible pet ownership and ensure public safety matters are dealt with efficiently and appropriately. This includes investigating alleged breaches of the Domestic Animals Act 2000 and Animal Welfare Act 1992 and the enforcement of regulatory actions. She is also responsible for mentoring, providing support and supervising a team of rangers.

Aside from work, Jasmine likes to spend time with family, keep active in the Canberra outdoors and is even doing Muay Thai. Jasmine also has a qualification in sound production!

Jasmine has loved working for Domestic Animal Services, initially applying because of the wonderful opportunities having a career there presented and because it meant she would have a job that meant something important to her.

Thanks Jasmine and great work!
