Belconnen

  • ACT parks and reserves: Ecologists are undertaking:
  • Infrastructure projects: For updates on current infrastructure projects see Belconnen infrastructure projects.
  • Lakes, ponds and waterways: Yerra Beach, Dulwa Beach and Nengi Bamir Beach at Lake Ginninderra are open for swimming with a warning for pet owners due to the Tychonema levels. For a full list of swimming areas and their status see water quality.
  • MowingMowing is underway in Aranda, Bruce, Charnwood, Flynn and along Ginninderra Drive.
  • Roads and paths: Crews are undertaking:
    • graffiti removal with occasional lane closures on sections of Belconnen Way, Glenloch Interchange and on Gungahlin Drive Extension at Bruce
    • litter picking on Belconnen Way, Bindubi Street, John Gorton Drive, Kingsford Smith Drive and William Hovell Drive
    • path maintenance in Charnwood and Dunlop.
  • Sportsgrounds: Crews are:
    • line marking at Cook Oval and Charnwood athletics track
    • dethatching the grass turf at Holt District Playing Fields.
  • Trees: Crews are undertaking:
    • planting in Charnwood, Fraser and Spence
    • pruning and removals in Florey and Latham
    • watering in Higgins, Holt, McKellar, Melba and Scullin.
  • Weeds: Crews are removing invasive Broom plants from parks, reserves and green spaces.

Central Canberra

  • ACT parks and reserves: Ecologists are undertaking:
  • Infrastructure projects: For updates on current infrastructure projects see Central infrastructure projects.
  • MowingMowing is underway in Kingston, O’Connor, Turner, Yarralumla and along Monaro Highway.
  • Rabbit control: Work is underway at Grevillea Park and City Hill until Friday 21 November 2025. Signage is in place to advise reserve users of activity and restrictions.
  • Roads and paths: Crews are undertaking:
    • asphalt patching and resurfacing on Cessnock Street, Gladstone Street, Lyell Street, Macarthur Avenue, Federal Highway, Majura Parkway and Mount Majura Road
    • litter picking on Ainslie Avenue, Fairbairn Avenue, Mugga Lane, Lanyon Drive, Limestone Avenue and Long Gully Road
    • path maintenance in Griffith, Kingston and Red Hill
    • street sweeping in Braddon, City and Dickson as well as shops in Deakin, Griffith, Kingston, Manuka and Narrabundah.
  • Road and lane closures: Sections of Northbourne Avenue are closed from Friday 14 November to Tuesday 18 November 2025 and Friday 21 November to Monday 24 November 2025 for works associated with Light Rail Stage 2A. For road closure information see travel impacts.
  • Sportsgrounds: Crews are:
    • top dressing, fertilising and re-seeding at Boomanulla Oval in Narrabundah
    • line marking on Dickson District Playing Fields
    • aerating the grass turf at Southwell Park in Lyneham.
  • Trees: Crews are undertaking:
    • pruning and removals in Braddon, Reid and Turner
    • watering at Albert Hall, Fyshwick and Narrabundah.

Gungahlin

  • ACT parks and reserves: Ecologists are undertaking annual condition monitoring of Natural Temperate Grasslands and Yellow Box Grassy Woodland threatened ecological communities at Goorooyaroo Nature Reserve, Crace Grasslands Nature Reserve and Gungaderra Grasslands Nature Reserve.
  • Infrastructure projects: For updates on current infrastructure projects see Gungahlin infrastructure projects.
  • MowingMowing is underway in Bonner, Forde, Jacka and along Horse Park Drive.
  • Nadjung Mada Nature Reserve: Construction works are continuing until the end of the year on upgrading Old Well Station Road at Nadjung Mada Nature Reserve. The works are designed to upgrade the existing fire trail for active travel, access, exercise and leisure activities while also including restoration work and animal crossings between the 2 offset areas of west Kenny and Nadjung Mada.
  • Roads and paths: Crews are undertaking:
    • litter picking on Flemington Road, Gungahlin Drive and Hoskins Street
    • street sweeping at Amaroo shops and Gungahlin town centre.
  • Sportsgrounds: Crews are line marking at Amaroo District Playing Fields.
  • Trees: Crews are undertaking:
    • planting in Casey, Ngunnawal, Nicholls and Taylor
    • pruning and removals in Forde
    • watering in Franklin, Ngunnawal and Nicholls.
  • Weeds: Crews are removing invasive Broom plants from parks, reserves and green spaces.

Tuggeranong

Maintenance and temporary closures

  • ACT parks and reserves:
    • Woods Reserve campground in Namadgi National Park is closed until mid-2026 to enable a complete upgrade of the facilities and reserve area.
    • Ready-Cut Cottage accommodation is closed until further notice for maintenance and repairs.
    • Repair works are taking place at the Tidbinbilla Nature Discovery Playground until Friday 28 November 2025. The playground will remain open but there will be workers and machinery present. Please follow all on site directions and signage during this time.
    • Red Rocks cliff in Bullen Range Nature Reserve is closed for rock climbing until Wednesday 31 December 2025 for the Peregrine Falcon breeding season.
  • Infrastructure projects:
    • Athllon Drive duplication: Some active travel zones within the enabling works area (between Drakeford Drive and Sulwood Drive) will open on Friday 21 November 2025. For more information see Athllon Drive duplication.
    • Lanyon dog park: The park remains closed allowing the grass to establish sufficiently prior to the heavy use from dogs running and playing. For more information see Lanyon dog park.
    • Monaro Highway upgrade: Temporary traffic lights are in place northbound at the intersection of Monaro Highway and Lanyon Drive. During off-peak hours on weekdays both northbound and southbound carriageways on the Monaro Highway may be reduced to one lane. For more information see Monaro Highway upgrade.
    • Sulwood Drive pavement rehabilitation: Work is underway to rehabilitate Sulwood Drive with the following closures in place from Monday 17 November 2025:
      • full road closure (both directions) between Mannheim Street and Athllon Drive
      • single lane only open heading westbound between Mannheim Street and Drakeford Drive.

  • Lakes, ponds and waterways: Tuggeranong Town Park is closed for swimming due to high levels of bacteria. For a full list of swimming areas and their status see water quality.
  • MowingMowing is underway in Bonython, Monash, Oxley and Wanniassa.
  • Roads and paths: Crews are undertaking:
    • resealing on Naas Road in Tharwa
    • litter picking on Johnson Drive and Monaro Highway
    • graffiti removal with occasional lane closures on sections of Drakeford Drive, Johnson Drive, Monaro Highway and Tharwa Drive
    • maintenance grading work in the rural area on sections of Boboyan Road
    • street sweeping at Gowrie, Fadden, Macarthur and Monash, Tuggeranong, Tuggeranong town centre and the shops at Calwell, Erindale, Kambah, Wanniassa.
  • Sportsgrounds: New grass turf has been laid at the goal posts at Gordon District Playing Fields (field number 1). This week crews are:
    • line marking the athletics tracks in Banks, Calwell and Kambah
    • top dressing, fertilising and re-seeding Calwell District Playing Fields and Kambah Oval (note the Kambah works are due to be completed in February 2026 to allow new grass to establish after renovation work).
  • Trees: Crews are undertaking:
    • planting in Fadden Pines and Kambah
    • pruning and removals in Banks, Conder, Gordon, Isabella Plains, Kambah, Monash, Theodore and Wanniassa
    • watering in Calwell, Greenway, Monash and Oxley.

Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo

Maintenance and temporary closures

  • ACT parks and reserves: Ecologists are undertaking annual condition monitoring of Natural Temperate Grasslands and Yellow Box Grassy Woodland threatened ecological communities at Callum Brae Nature Reserve and Googong Foreshores.
  • Infrastructure projects:
    • Darwinia Terrace: Bridge repair works are complete. The road is reopening soon and then line marking will be underway.
    • Molonglo River Bridge: Coppins Crossing Road is closed on Wednesday 19 November 2025 from 2 am until 3 pm between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue. During the closure, concrete will be poured on the recently installed precast deck slabs on the bridge structure over Coppins Crossing Road. See travel impacts for more information.

  • MowingMowing is underway in Chifley, Duffy, Holder and Pearce.
  • Roads and paths: Crews are undertaking:
    • resealing on Mount Stromlo Road
    • litter picking along Cotter Road and Streeton Drive
    • street sweeping at Cooleman Court, Curtin shops, Mawson shops and Woden.
  • Sportsgrounds: Crews are:
    • top dressing at Mawson District Playing Fields
    • cleaning and brooming the synthetic surface at synthetic surface at Melrose Synthetic Field
    • mowing and edging Woden Park athletic track.
  • Trees: Crews are undertaking:
    • planting in Chifley, Curtin, Farrer, Garran, Hughes, Lyons and Torrens
    • pruning and removals in Lyons and Weston
    • watering in Chifley, Duffy, Holder and Lyons.
