General updates
Lakes and waterways:
Lake Ginninderra: Yerra Beach, Dulwa Beach and Nengi Bamir Beach have a medium alert level for Tychonema which is harmful to dogs when ingested.
Lake Tuggeranong: Tuggeranong Town Park is closed for swimming due to a bacteria alert.

Pests: As of Friday 7 November 2025, 375 European wasp queens have been trapped and removed prior to nests being established.
Road closures:
Lady Denman Drive and Parkes Way: Lady Denman Drive (both directions) and Parkes Way (westbound) are closed Sunday 16 November 2025 from 4 am to 11:30 am for the Challenge Canberra Triathlon. For more information see NCA.
Northbourne Avenue:
Partial closures are in place from Friday 14 November to Tuesday 18 November 2025 and Friday 21 November to Monday 24 November 2025 for works associated with Light Rail Stage 2A. See travel impacts for more information.

Rabbit control: Work is underway at Grevillea Park and City Hill until Friday 21 November 2025. Signage is in place to advise reserve users of activity and restrictions.

Nadjung Mada Nature Reserve: Construction works are continuing until the end of the year on upgrading Old Well Station Road at Nadjung Mada Nature Reserve. The works are designed to upgrade the existing fire trail for active travel, access, exercise and leisure activities while also including restoration work and animal crossings between the 2 offset areas of west Kenny and Nadjung Mada.

Ready-Cut Cottage accommodation is closed until further notice for maintenance and repairs.
Repair works are taking place at the Tidbinbilla Nature Discovery Playground until Friday 28 November 2025. The playground will remain open but there will be workers and machinery present. Please follow all on site directions and signage during this time.
Red Rocks cliff in Bullen Range Nature Reserve is closed for rock climbing until Wednesday 31 December 2025 for the Peregrine Falcon breeding season.
Infrastructure projects:
Athllon Drive duplication: Some active travel zones within the enabling works area (between Drakeford Drive and Sulwood Drive) will open on Friday 21 November 2025. For more information see Athllon Drive duplication.
Lanyon dog park: The park remains closed allowing the grass to establish sufficiently prior to the heavy use from dogs running and playing. For more information see Lanyon dog park.
Monaro Highway upgrade: Temporary traffic lights are in place northbound at the intersection of Monaro Highway and Lanyon Drive. During off-peak hours on weekdays both northbound and southbound carriageways on the Monaro Highway may be reduced to one lane. For more information see Monaro Highway upgrade.
Sulwood Drive pavement rehabilitation: Work is underway to rehabilitate Sulwood Drive with the following closures in place from Monday 17 November 2025:
full road closure (both directions) between Mannheim Street and Athllon Drive
single lane only open heading westbound between Mannheim Street and Drakeford Drive.

ACT parks and reserves: Ecologists are undertaking annual condition monitoring of Natural Temperate Grasslands and Yellow Box Grassy Woodland threatened ecological communities at Callum Brae Nature Reserve and Googong Foreshores.
Infrastructure projects:
Darwinia Terrace: Bridge repair works are complete. The road is reopening soon and then line marking will be underway.
Molonglo River Bridge: Coppins Crossing Road is closed on Wednesday 19 November 2025 from 2 am until 3 pm between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue. During the closure, concrete will be poured on the recently installed precast deck slabs on the bridge structure over Coppins Crossing Road. See travel impacts for more information.
Arterial roads are litter picked approximately every 4 weeks. Main roads are also regularly inspected within this period to identify and program the removal of larger litter items.
Barbecues are cleaned twice a week between September and April and once a week for the rest of the year. We manage 125 barbecues across Canberra.
Graffiti is removed within 5 business days of being reported and within one business day if offensive. To report graffiti please go to Fix My Street.
Lakes and waterways adjacent to town and district parks are checked for litter each week. Urban lakes and ponds are litter picked a minimum of 5-6 times a year. There are over 160 urban lakes and ponds around Canberra. Reports of excess litter or illegal dumping are prioritised for removal as soon as possible.
Playgrounds are routinely inspected. We manage over 500 playgrounds across Canberra including:
district playgrounds (e.g. Lake Ginninderra) which are inspected twice per week
central community playgrounds (e.g. Crace) which are inspected every week
local neighbourhood playgrounds (e.g. Duffy) which are inspected every fortnight.
Public land around shopping centres is routinely cleaned. We manage 90 shopping centres across Canberra and clean them as follows:
town centres (e.g. Woden) and group centres (e.g. Dickson) are cleaned daily
local shops (e.g. Fisher) vary in cleaning from daily to 3 times a week.
Public toilets are cleaned at least once daily. Additionally, reactive cleaning and maintenance is undertaken as required. We manage over 70 toilets across Canberra.
Trees under 3 years of age in non‑irrigated areas are generally watered monthly from November to April.
