The first package of works has been completed including all sites in Scullin and select sites in Chifley and O'Connor. The second package of works is now underway.

Project description

Construction is underway on Age Friendly Suburbs Program.

The Age Friendly Suburbs Program started in 2015-16. It involves improvements to the path network to provide better access. The focus of the Program is on access for the aged community and those with more specific mobility needs. But we know these improvements benefit all Canberrans.

To date improvements have been delivered in 12 suburbs. You can find more details on the previous projects page.

A further four suburbs have been added to the program. They are Chifley, O’Connor, Reid and Scullin.

The ACT Government identified improvements through Fix My Street data and site visits. We also talked to community groups including Council of the Ageing. The community helped prioritise improvements for further investigation in these suburbs in October 2022. See YourSay for more information on the consultation.

Below are the locations identified for delivery.
