Australasian Recycling Label

Australians care about the environment and want to do the right thing. But with hundreds of recycling labels out there, getting recycling right can be confusing, and even recycling gurus get it wrong.

The Australasian Recycling Label helps removes recycling confusion. And when we dispose of our waste correctly, we keep contamination out of the waste stream and recyclable material away from landfill.

Most products have multiple pieces of packaging. The Australasian Recycling Label tells you how to correctly dispose of every part of your product’s packaging, so you know which parts belong in recycling or landfill (rubbish) bin.

The Australasian Recycling Label is a partnership between The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), Planet Ark and utilises the PREP design tool to provide a nationally consistent approach to packaging transparency. The Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal (PREP) tool allows packaging designers to assess the recyclability of a packaging and supports designing for recyclability.
