Drink bottles (reusable)
Reusable plastic, aluminium and steel drink bottles are not household packaging so are not recyclable in ACT recycling bins. Use them for as long as possible.
Disposal options
- Donate to charity if in good condition
- Recycle metal drink bottles at a scrap metal merchant
- Rubbish bin
Why?
While drink bottles are often made from recyclable materials such as plastic and metals, our Materials Recovery Facility in the ACT processes household packaging and containers, paper and cardboard only.
