As consumers voice their concerns over plastic, more brands are moving towards plastic-free tea bags. To avoid contaminating your compost with plastic, research plastic-free tea bags or use loose leaf tea.

Mercury is classified as hazardous waste and is highly toxic to humans and animals. Due to its toxicity mercury should never enter the general waste stream where it can end up in landfill and may contaminate groundwater or convert to methyl mercury, a toxic and volatile gas.

Domestic car and SUV vehicle tyres with or without rims can be taken to ACT waste facilities for recycling, fees and limits apply. Dispose of them responsibly as they can be made into new products. Truck tyres are NOT accepted at these facilities.
