Margarine, dairy and yoghurt tubs
Margarine containers, dairy and yoghurt tubs are household packaging made from rigid plastics so can be recycled in ACT recycling bins.
Disposal options
- Recycle plastics made from Plastic Identification Code 1, 2, 3 and 5
- Recycling bin - empty and dry, lid off
- Lids larger than a business card and made from Plastic Identification Code 1, 2, 3 and 5 can be recycled, otherwise place in the rubbish bin
- Rubbish bin for plastics with a Plastic Identification Code of 4, 6 or 7
Why?
Most rigid plastics can be sorted at our Materials Recovery Facility but check the plastic code and place containers with a Plastic Identification Code of 4, 6 or in the rubbish bin as these plastics are a low grade plastic with no demand from after markets.
