Paper straws can be composted or placed in the rubbish bin.

Why?
The size and shape of straw means they are unlikely to be sorted correctly by the Materials Recovery Facility if placed in the yellow bin loosely. Materials for recycling must also be clean and dry and used paper straws are generally soiled and soggy upon disposal.
