Straws
Paper and plastic straws must not be placed in your household recycling, FOGO or green garden waste bin.
Disposal options
- Compost paper straws in your home compost bin where possible.
- Straws may be accepted through specialised recycling programs (conditions apply), such as:
- Banish Recycling and Disposal Program (fees apply)
- Terracycle Straws Zero Waste Box (fees apply)
- If straws cannot be composted or recycled through specialist programs, place them in your household general waste bin.
Additional information
- Consider reusable alternatives, such as metal, silicone or bamboo straws.
