Air conditioners
Air conditioners can be reused, disposed of by retailers or installers, or sold for scrap metal.
Disposal options
- For working units, drop off for free at Goodies Junction at:
- If replacing your air conditioner, request that retailers or installers remove and dispose of the old machine. Some major retailers offer “take-back services” and removal of packaging including polystyrene.
- For units made predominantly of metal (at least 80%) drop off FREE at:
- Find a business that specialises in the collection, recycling and/or reusing of metal, such as:
Access Recycling, Fyshwick
Metal Mart, Fyshwick
Why?
Air conditioning units contain metals which can be recovered to make new products.
