Carpet and underlay
Carpet and underlay that are in good condition can be reused. If the carpet or underlay is unusable it will need to be disposed of as general waste.
Disposal options
Reuse (free)
If carpets and underlay, rugs, carpet rolls, carpet tiles and vinyl flooring are clean and in good reusable condition, you can drop them off for free at Goodies Junction at:
Collection services
- Consider booking a free bulky waste collection. Follow the preparation requirements provided when booking (conditions apply). Carpets and underlay are accepted in bulky waste collections, provided each item is no more than 2 metres in length and weighs less than 50 kg.
- You can arrange a Trash Pak or skip bin waste collection service at your home to dispose of old carpets.
Disposal
- If your unwanted carpet is no longer usable, you will need to take it to a resource management centres (fees apply).
- Ask your carpet installer to dispose of it on your behalf when they are installing new carpet.
- Small amounts of carpet can be placed in your household general waste bin.
