Drums (large metal or plastic containers)
Large metal or plastic drums cannot be recycled in ACT recycling bins. See piano section for musical instruments.
Disposal options
- Many retail points have return options for large drums.
- Most pool shops have return options for their containers.
- For clean agricultural and veterinary chemical containers drop off free at Mitchell Resource Management Centre as part of the drumMUSTER program. Collections are held on the first Thursday of each month between 10am and 12pm. Bookings essential.
Why?
Drums are too large to be processed at our Materials Recovery Facility in the ACT and chemical residues can cause contamination. Under the drumMUSTER program they will be responsibly recycled or disposed of.
