Medicine packets (empty)
Medicine packets cannot be recycled in ACT recycling bins as they are usually mixed product (aluminium and rigid plastics). Packets containing medication can be returned to pharmacies for responsible disposal.
Disposal options
- Lids4Kids collects empty blister packs for various recycling projects.
- Empty blister packs can be dropped off for free to all Chemist Warehouse stores through the Pharmacycle recycling scheme.
- If the packet is made entirely from aluminium and at least the size of a credit card, the packaging can go in the recycling bin.
- If the packet is half aluminium and half rigid plastic (such as a Panadol packet) put it in the landfill bin.
