Place metal household packaging in your recycling bin.
Disposal options
- Place metal food and drink containers, such as cans, tins and foil items in your recycling bin. Check the City Services - Recycling page for more information.
- Return eligible drink containers through the ACT Container Deposit Scheme (ACT CDS) to receive a 10c refund. Find a return point.
- Consider using a Zero Waste Warrior tub from Lids4Kids for small or hard‑to‑recycle household items (conditions and fees apply).
- Drop off excess household recycling for free at the recycling drop-off centres listed below. These centres are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:
- Jolly Street, Belconnen
- O'Brien Place, Gungahlin
- Baillieu Circuit, Mitchell
- Botany Street, Phillip
- Scollay Street, Tuggeranong
- Drop off excess household recycling at Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre during opening hours.
