Tools
Many tools can be reused by others, even if they need simple repairs. If they are beyond repair, do not put in the recycling bin. Power tools should not be placed in household bins. Please refer to safe disposal options below.
Disposal options
- Give to a friend, donate to charity or sell online
- If reusable, drop off for free at Goodies Junction at:
- Belconnen Men’s Shed take donations of wood lathes and sheet metal lathes
- Community Toolbox runs Repair Cafes and will accept some gently used items.
- Before disposing power tools, lithium-ion batteries must be removed and disposed at a battery drop off point. All Bunnings stores have a battery collection unit located at the front entrance for used household and power tool batteries.
- Contact a business that specialises in the collection, recycling and/or reusing of metal, such as:

The ACT’s Materials Recovery Facility is designed to process household containers, packaging, paper and cardboard only.
