Cameras, video cameras/recorders must not go in your household recycling bin.
Disposal options
- Give to a friend, donate to charity or sell online
- If reusable, drop off for free at The Green Shed at:
- If broken, dispose in your landfill bin. Batteries must be removed from video cameras and recorders prior to disposal. The batteries can be recycled through the B-cycle program.
Why?
Australia does not have a national recycling scheme for electrical appliances. Existing schemes covers TVs, computers, mobile phones and printer cartridges. Currently at the end of their life, video recorders must have their batteries removed and be disposed of in landfill.
