Do not place modems in your household bins.
Disposal options
- Ask the internet installation company to take away old modems for recycling
- Drop off for free as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme located at:
Mitchell Resource Management Centre
- Items such as computers, printers and TVs are accepted. Check for eligible items on the Televisions, computers and accessories page.
- Limit of 15 items per person apply (a keyboard, mouse and monitor equals one item).
- Visit the Televisions, computers and accessories page for a list of items that can be dropped off for free.
Why?
Modems contain some valuable materials including glass, aluminium, gold, silver and copper that can be extracted for reuse. It means that fewer raw materials need to be extracted and processed to make new products.
