Computers and computer accessories are electronic waste and can be reused or recycled. Make sure that you permanently delete all files and programs on your computer’s hard-drive before recycling or giving away.
Disposal options
- Consider businesses who accept working and/or non- working computers and equipment for re-using and/or recycling:

- Advise the attendant you are dropping items off under the scheme, and they will be directed to the appropriate area of the Transfer Station
- Limit of 15 items per person apply (a keyboard, mouse and monitor equals one item)

Why?
The National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme diverts hazardous materials away from landfill and enabled the reuse of valuable resources contained in e-waste, with more than 90 percent of materials recovered each year.
