Glass products
Glass panes, drinking glasses, perfume bottles and mirrors are made from heat treated glass and therefore NOT recyclable in ACT recycling bins.
Disposal options
- If reusable, drop off free at The Green Shed at:
- Consider businesses and charities that specialise in the acceptance and resale of second-hand goods, (ring for opening times and shop locations) such as:
- If glass products are broken, wrap in newspaper and place in the landfill bin
Why?
These products are made from ‘heat treated’ glass and cannot be processed into sand at our Materials Recovery Facility like glass packaging such as jam jars and wine bottles.
