Diddams Close boat ramp upgrade


Current update

From Monday 21 September 2026, works to upgrade the boat ramp are expected to begin.

The boat ramp is expected to be operational in November 2026.

Lake Ginninderra is being lowered for regular dam maintenance work. While the lake is lowered, construction of the boat ramp upgrades will be carried out.
There may be temporary pedestrian changes while works are underway. Please follow detour signage and be mindful when passing the work area.

Project description

Construction is underway on Diddams Close boat ramp upgrade.

In December 2023, the ACT Government received feedback from residents about the Diddams Close boat ramp being unsafe. An inspection of the boat ramp found it is in good condition but does not extend far enough into the water, making it difficult for a boat to depart.

To rectify this issue the boat ramp will be extended and upgraded.

This upgrade will:

  • make it safer to launch boats from trailers
  • reduce the likelihood of damage to boats and trailers
  • reduce the likelihood of erosion of the lakebed and surroundings
  • minimise maintenance costs on the ramp
  • allow residents using boats to easily enjoy the lake and amenities.
