Shopping centre maintenance

The ACT Government has a regular maintenance program on public open spaces in the vicinity of local shops. The daily routine includes:

  • litter picking
  • cleaning surfaces
  • pruning bushes
  • lifting trees
  • servicing bins
  • daily toilet cleaning
  • pressure cleaning paving as required
  • removing graffiti from ACT Government assets
  • repairing damaged street furniture
  • minor horticultural maintenance of garden beds
  • removing leaves in autumn.

Shopping centre upgrades

The ACT Government also looks after the upgrade of public space in local shopping centres. These upgrades aim to ensure all members of the community can enjoy our public spaces.

As part of the consultation process, we encourage members of the community to provide their input on the early concept plans. This ensures the upgrades address their priority needs and reflect the centre's identity.
