Shopping centre improvements

Page last reviewed 04 May 2026

Project description

The ACT Government maintains and upgrades public open space infrastructure at local shopping centres. The work aims to encourage the use and enjoyment of public places by all members of the community, including people with a disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, older people, indigenous people, young people and families.

Upgrades and improvements at shops aim to revitalise and increase access, encouraging the community to shop locally. These works may include new or improved lighting, park/street furniture, pathways and paving, playground equipment, integrated community artwork, new signage, improved traffic and car parking arrangements and new landscaping and tree planting.
