All light rail services will be replaced by buses on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July 2026 to allow for infrastructure works to extend light rail from the city to Commonwealth Park. Rail replacement buses will operate between Alinga Street and Gungahlin Place in both directions. Regular services will resume on Monday 6 July 2026. Fifteen reserves across the ACT are closed during kangaroo management operations until Friday 31 July 2026. These reserves are closed from 6 pm to 6 am, Monday to Thursday. Find out more at the Kangaroo Management Program Data webpage.
Maintenance work will be undertaken on some mountain bike trails in Bruce Ridge Nature Reserve.
Dilapidated stock fencing will be removed and, where necessary, replaced across various reserves in preparation for the upcoming Bushfire Operations Program grazing schedule.

Charnwood skate park: Repair works are continuing. Areas of the skate park may be intermittently closed to users during the works. Please follow relevant signage.
Road closures: O’Reilly Street, at the intersection of Southern Cross Drive, will be closed from Saturday 4 to Friday 10 July 2026, weather permitting.

conducting roadworks on Eastern Valley Way. The intersection of Eastern Valley Way and College Street will be closed from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday 28 June 2026.
Sportsgrounds: Field preparation is underway in Charnwood for the Kanga Cup in July 2026.
Stormwater network upgrades: Works on the stormwater floodway between Alberga Street, Maribyrnong Avenue and Staaten Crescent in Kaleen will take place from Thursday 25 June to Tuesday 30 June 2026, weather permitting.
Trees: Crews are undertaking pruning and removals in Giralang, Kaleen and Macgregor.
ACT parks and reserves: Dilapidated stock fencing will be removed and, where necessary, replaced across various reserves in preparation for the upcoming Bushfire Operations Program grazing schedule.
Infrastructure projects:
Garden City Cycleway: Construction works on Stage 1D have commenced on Torrens Street, Braddon. Lane closures and permanent lane configuration works have been implemented. All works will be completed by late 2026.
Horticultural maintenance: Crews are undertaking maintenance work:

at laneways in Campbell and Reid.
Light rail works: Critical works for the construction of Light Rail Stage 2A are taking place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026. All light rail services will be replaced by rail replacement buses between Alinga Street and Gungahlin Place in both directions. Temporary road and lane closures will be in place on Northbourne Avenue northbound and southbound between London Circuit and Cooyong Street. Due to changes in pedestrian access around the Alinga Street light rail stop, customers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel during this period.
Mowing: Mowing is underway at Bowen Park, Lennox Gardens and Telopea Park.
Park maintenance: Crews are undertaking park maintenance in Lyneham.
Road closures: Captain Cook Crescent between Carnegie Crescent and Sturt Avenue in Griffith will be closed from 8 pm Friday 3 July to 6 am Monday 6 July 2026 (weather permitting) for electrical upgrade works at Narrabundah College.

Weeds: Crews are managing weeds in Fyshwick, Lyneham and O'Connor around bollards and mowing obstacles, and in open spaces.

ACT parks and reserves: Pine Island central toilet block is closed for repairs until early July 2026. Visitors will still have access to the southern toilet block in the Pine Island recreation area.

Infrastructure projects:
Monaro Highway upgrade: Ongoing pavement construction works continue throughout the work area. Temporary traffic lights are in place northbound at the intersection of Monaro Highway and Lanyon Drive. During off-peak hours on weekdays, both northbound and southbound carriageways on the Monaro Highway may be reduced to one lane.
Solar lighting at concrete bus shelters: Solar installation works are underway. Minor temporary shelter closures will be in place, but no stops will be closed to patrons during construction.
William Hovell Drive duplication: Concrete barriers to delineate the 4.5 km road alignment are in place. There are currently reduced speed limits and traffic management measures in place. There is no pedestrian access at the current roundabout on William Hovell Drive, Drake-Brockman Drive and Kingsford Smith Drive. Pedestrian detours are in place to Belconnen Way, Kingsford Smith Drive, Murranji Street and Florina Place. There is no parking and no access to Kama and The Pinnacle nature reserves from William Hovell Drive. The Bicentennial National Trail underpass is closed.
Ponds maintenance: Works to remove silt and debris within the Wyndham Avenue retention ponds at the corner of John Gorton Drive and Wyndham Avenue in Denman Prospect are underway until Tuesday 30 August 2026, weather permitting.

The Gibraltar Falls viewing platform and walking track remain closed until later in 2026 to allow completion of signage and visitor safety infrastructure improvements at the site.
The Cotter Campground is closed for bathroom refurbishments until Wednesday 1 July 2026. There is no access to the Cotter Campground during this period.
Minor works are underway at the Nature Discovery Playground at Sheedys picnic area in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. Please stay away from any new planting and newly laid turf (signposted) and be mindful of workers and machinery operating in the vicinity.
Final autumn roadside mowing and slashing is being undertaken along Paddys River Road, Tidbinbilla Road and Point Huts Road. Traffic management is in place, but due care should be taken and extra time allowed for machinery operating along the roads.

Arterial roads are litter picked approximately every 4 weeks. Main roads are also regularly inspected within this period to identify and program the removal of larger litter items.
Barbecues are cleaned twice a week between September and April and once a week for the rest of the year.
Graffiti is removed within 15 business days of being reported and within one business day if offensive. To report graffiti please go to Fix My Street.
Lakes and waterways adjacent to town and district parks are checked for litter each week. Urban lakes and ponds are litter picked a minimum of 5-6 times a year. Reports of excess litter or illegal dumping are prioritised for removal as soon as possible.
Playgrounds are routinely inspected and maintained as follows:
district playgrounds (e.g. Lake Ginninderra) which are inspected twice per week
central community playgrounds (e.g. Crace) which are inspected every week
local neighbourhood playgrounds (e.g. Duffy) which are inspected every fortnight.
Public land around shopping centres is routinely cleaned as follows:
town centres (e.g. Woden) and group centres (e.g. Dickson) are cleaned daily
local shops (e.g. Fisher) vary in cleaning from daily to 3 times a week.
Public toilets are cleaned at least once daily. Additionally, reactive cleaning and maintenance is undertaken as required.
Trees under 3 years of age in non‑irrigated areas are generally watered monthly from November to April.
