Current update

In March 2026, we advised works for surface remediation at the skatepark off Bartlet Place in Tuggeranong were expected to begin in June 2026.

Due to ongoing contract negotiations, surface remediation works have been delayed.

A further update will be provided on this page once a commencement date is known.

From Wednesday 10 June 2026, surface remediation works began at the skatepark off Dean Place in Charnwood.

There are intermittent closures in sections of the skatepark to allow surface remediation to occur. Full closures of the skatepark will also happen intermittently to facilitate works.

Please observe any closure signage and avoid the work area where possible.

All work is expected to be complete by the end of July 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

A draft ACT Skate Strategy has been developed, key skate stakeholders have been engaged in the development of the draft. To stay up to date, go to the Draft ACT Skate Strategy page.

Canberra's skateparks are available for use by all skateboarders, cyclists, scooters, rollerbladers and roller skaters.

Currently there are 7 major skateparks in Canberra suitable for all levels of use. They are located in:

  • Belconnen
  • Canberra City
  • Eddison Park
  • Weston
  • Tuggeranong
  • Erindale
  • Yerrabi District Park.

Six of these parks are fitted with lighting which is timed to switch off at 10 pm, while the Erindale skatepark is the only site unlit.

Many of the ACT's skateparks are located close to water refill stations. These are wheelchair accessible and equipped with 2 bottle refill nozzles as well as a drinking fountain. Some locations also include a dog drinking bowl.

A further 12 parks offering skating features are listed below.

The major skateparks can be busy on weekends and during school holidays. If you are a beginner, we encourage you to utilise the other skatepark features to develop your skills. You should always wear appropriate safety equipment, ride or skate the parks within your limits and be courteous to other users.
