The public spaces at the Kippax shops will be improved.

Preliminary planning is currently underway. Once complete, design work will begin.

We look forward to sharing a concept design with the community in the first half of 2027.

Project description

Planning is underway on Kippax shops public space improvements.

In the 2026-27 ACT Budget, the ACT Government committed to improving shops across Canberra. This includes public space upgrades at the Kippax shops in Holt.

This follows an election commitment in 2024 to improve the public spaces at Kippax shops. In 2025 the first stage of improvements on Hardwick Crescent were completed.

The Kippax shops sit in a busy part of Belconnen just off Southern Cross Drive. A number of speciality stores call the centre home as well as bakeries, cafes, grocery shops, a butcher, hairdresser and medical facilities.

This project will improve public spaces around the shops. Works may include new seating, lighting, crossings, paving or landscaping.
