Project description
The ACT Government has constructed the Canberra Brickworks access road and upgrade of Dudley Street in Yarralumla to keep our city moving as it grows.
Dudley Street upgrade
Dudley Street in Yarralumla is a busy road in the Territory experiencing high traffic volumes, particularly during morning and afternoon peak hours. The road was not constructed to carry the volume of traffic it does now and the upgrade ensures it now meets current design standards.
Major civil works to realign Dudley Street were completed in December 2021 with minor works completed in February 2022.
Key features
- Improvements to the vertical alignment of the road to make it safer.
- Widening both lanes of the road to allow better and safer traffic flow.
- New roundabout at the Cotter Road end of Dudley Street providing a link to the future Canberra Brickworks access road.
- Dedicated pedestrian and cyclist path along the northern side of the road and a path network that will cater for active travel.
- Pedestrian refuge crossing.
Canberra Brickworks access road
As part of the upgrade works a new access road has been constructed into the Canberra Brickworks development precinct. This is known as Brickworks Way. It connects to the new roundabout on Dudley Street towards the Cotter Road end of the road.
More information on the Canberra Brickworks development is available on the Suburban Land Agency website.
