Project description
Design is underway on Palmerston shops improvements
In the 2025–26 ACT Budget, the ACT Government committed to improving shops across Canberra. This includes public space improvements at the Palmerston shops.
Established in the 1990s Palmerston shops in Gungahlin caters to everyday needs.
Surrounded by residential areas, the shops include a hairdresser, chemist, supermarket, takeaway and a medical centre.
Key features of the design
- Improved accessibility including path improvements, accessible parking space and a new pram crossing
- New play space including new equipment, furniture and picnic area
- New bins, bike rack and drinking fountain
- Additional landscaping
