Community buildings and venues upgrades

• Skate park on Emu Bank: repair deteriorated concrete areas and install a shade structure.

Footpath and cycle path network upgrades

• A new 300m long path from the existing path along Southern Cross Drive to bus stop 5003 (before Ratcliffe Crescent) in Florey.
• A new 265m long path along the existing dirt track beside the future retirement village between the Higgins Place cul-de-sac and Fullager Crescent in Higgins.
• A new 42m long path on Clews Place connecting it with Mugglestone Place in Bruce.
• A new 64m long path on Southern Cross Drive connecting to bus stop 5028 (after Ratcliffe Street) in Florey.

• Complete installation of CBR cycle route wayfinding signage on:
  • Cycle route 3: City to Belconnen
  • Cycle route 7: Belconnen to Gungahlin
• A new path on Aikman Drive connecting to bus stop 4143 (near UC hospital)

Local and group shopping centre upgrades

• Minor refresh works to the shops in Kaleen (East), Macgregor, Macquarie, Page, Spence (NW), Spence (SE) and Weetangera, such as small-scale pathway and kerb ramp improvements for accessibility and safety.
• A feasibility study for an upgrade of the Kippax group centre which will respond to community feedback received in the development of the Kippax Group Centre Master Plan. The study will consider opportunities for creating a community hub and central plaza area for the centre with active meeting places, a reconfigured car park layout and improved pedestrian and cyclist connections to and within the centre.

Open space and landscaping improvements

• Replacement of the existing public toilet facilities at John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen.

• Upgrades to Lake Ginninderra’s swimming area including a top up of beach sand, landscaping improvements and an outdoor shower.

Playground improvements

• New shade sails to be installed at the playgrounds located on:
  • Fullerston Way, Holt
  • James Harrison Street, Dunlop.

  • Southern Cross Drive and Starke Street, Holt
  • Kuringa Drive and Owen Dixon Drive, Evatt

• Copland Drive intersection upgrades: conversion of uncontrolled T intersection to a roundabout (at Verbrugghen Street) and a channelised right turn lane from Copland Drive into Moynihan Street.
• Traffic calming treatments at:
  • Krefft Street between Kingsford Smith Drive and Ratcliffe Crescent
  • Hardwick Crescent and Starke Street (between their intersections with Powell Street)
  • Heydon Crescent between Kissane Crescent and Kevin Street (east)
  • Ginninderra Drive between Kerrigan Street and Florey Drive.
• Permanent CCTV camera installed for incident detection and traffic monitoring at:

• A new 130m long path in the open space adjacent to Hovea Street, linking Boronia Drive and Macarthur Avenue in O'Connor.
• A new 60m long path that runs on the grassed island section directly in front of Telopea Park School entry, parallel to New South Wales Crescent, in Forrest.
• A new 140m long path between the Attorney General's Department Building on 5 National Circuit and Blackall Street, in Barton.
• A new 250m long off-road cycle path on the northern side of Monaro Crescent from bus stop 3271 after the Flinders Way intersection heading south past the temporary car park and to the existing concrete path at Golden Grove in Griffith.
• A new 200m long path on the north-western side of the open space in Jandura Park between Boronia Drive and Wattle Street in O'Connor.
• A new 195m long path along the western verge of Chowne Street from Creswell Street in Campbell.
• A new 80m long path along the length of Page Street, linking up to the existing footpath which runs along Anzac Park in Campbell.
• A new pram ramp and widening of the paved area adjoining the footpath on the eastern verge of the zebra crossing adjacent to Dickson College in Hackett.
• A new 180m long path linking bus stop 3196 on Antill Street (before Phillip Avenue) to the existing footpath adjacent to St. Margaret's Uniting Church in Hackett.
• A new 200m long path adjacent to the McCaughey Street open space, running through Haig Park between Condamine Street and Masson Street in Turner. An additional link will also be constructed across Condamine Street to link with the existing network.
• A new 385m long path on the north-western verge of Higinbotham Street between Hanson Place and Andrews Street in Watson.
• Construction of new safe cycling infrastructure linking the on and off-road networks, at the intersection of the Federal Highway and Stirling Avenue, in Watson.
• A new 750m long path on the southern side at the intersection of Newcastle Street and Whyalla Street linking with Canberra Avenue in Fyshwick.
• A new 140m long path along the southern side of Mildura Street between Dalby Street and the Fyshwick Markets in Griffith where it will connect to a wide path that runs to the entrance of the Markets.
• Line marking of a 32m on-road cycle lane on the Canberra Avenue service lane from the Ipswich Street end cul-de-sac in Fyshwick.
• A new 35m long path from the Brisbane Avenue underpass near Telopea Park to Lake Burley Griffin in Barton.
• A new 40m long path on the northern verge of Burke Crescent near the Wentworth Avenue crossing at the train station in Fyshwick.
• A new 345m long path in the open space between Blaxland Crescent and Barker Street in Griffith.
• A new 47m long path along the existing desire line from Bagot Street to the off-road network along Sullivan's Creek in O'Connor.
• A new 375m long path on Denison Street linking bus stop 3021 after King Street with bus stop 3017 outside the Royal Australian Mint.
• A new 50m long path on Elouera Street in front of the Halston Residences to provide improved access to the pay station.
• A new 290m long off-road cycle path from the Barton Highway through the open space and linking to the existing path on Ellenborough Street creating a link between North Lyneham and Belconnen.
• A new 10m long link on Canberra Avenue to the existing on-road cycle lane on the western side of Canberra Avenue 200m south of Norse Road in Beard.

• Complete installation of CBR cycle route wayfinding signage on:
  • Cycle route 3: City to Belconnen
  • Cycle route 8: City loop
• New priority crossings for the City-Woden cycle route at Loftus Street and Schlich Street in Yarralumla.
• Construction of a missing link on the Lake Burley Griffin Circuit on Menindee Drive.

  • Condamine Street to Macarthur Avenue (northbound)
  • Antill Street to Wakefield Avenue (southbound).

• Pedestrian safety improvements on Goyder Street between the entrance to the Jindalee Aged Care Facility and Leahy Crescent in Narrabundah.
• A new 40km/h speed zone on the local roads around the Deakin shops as well as new crossing points on Hopetoun Circuit between Grey Street and MacGregor Street in Deakin.

• Traffic calming treatments at:
  • Phillip Avenue between Antill Street and Majura Avenue.
  • Majura Avenue between Phillip Avenue and Dutton Street
  • Hawdon Street at Majura Avenue
  • Officer Crescent at Davonport Street/Rutherford Crescent.

• A new 280m long path in the open space adjacent to Gungahlin Drive, along the floodway from the back of Dooland Court down to Lexcen Avenue in Nicholls.
• A new 40m long path from Jabanungga Avenue towards the shopping centre car park, improving access into the Ngunnawal Shopping Centre.
• Extension of the existing path on Anthony Rolfe Avenue from the Eva West intersection to the Manning Clark Crescent intersection in Gungahlin.
• A new 410m long path around Heights Park between Katherine Avenue and Dulverton Street in Amaroo.

• Complete installation of CBR cycle route wayfinding signage on:
  • Cycle route 7: Belconnen to Gungahlin
  • Cycle route 9: Gungahlin to Airport

• A new 480m long path on the northern verge of Cotter Road from Pearlman Street into the Stromlo Depot and down to the existing shared path near the Canberra Centenary Trail in Coombs.
• A new 167m long path on Liardet Street between Trenerry Street and the Caltex car wash in Weston.
• A new 310m long path on the eastern verge of Yamba Drive between Mawson Drive and Julia Flynn Avenue in Isaacs; as well as the completion of a missing link between 10 Mawson Drive and the pedestrian crossing.
• A new 430m long path along Bernacchi Street between Du Faur Street and Hurley Street in Mawson.
• A new 140m long path on the outer verge on Medley Street between 14 Medley Street and the first open space connection.
• A new 42m long path along the dirt track on Corinna Street between the car park and 48 Corinna Street.
• A new 78m long path along the dirt track in the open space between Haines Street and Yolla Place in Lyons.
• A new 10m long link from the shopping centre footpaths to the existing footpath near 20 Waramanga Place in Waramanga.
• Widening of the existing paths in the open space at the underpass of Gilmore Crescent near the Hartigan Street/Gilmore Crescent roundabout.
• A new 271m long path on Ainsworth Street heading southbound between Alsop Close and Power Street in Phillip.
• The second stage of the Heysen Street Link in Lyons - a new 2.5m wide off-road shared path along Launceston Street from Burnie Street to the underpass near the Lyons shops.

• Priority crossing for Theodore Street at Melrose Drive, Woden.
• The third stage of the Heysen Street Link in Lyons - a new path along Devonport Street between the end of the first stage of the Heysen Street link and the Lyons shops.

• Install road safety barriers to comply with current standards and reduce the likelihood of fatal crashes caused by run off collisions.

• New speed humps and pedestrian refuges in Weston on both McInnes Street between Hindmarsh Drive and Hilder Crescent, and on Heysen Street between Streeton Drive and the driveway to the Oakey Hill Nature Reserve.

• Replacement of non-compliant road safety barriers with current standards compliant barriers on the Tuggeranong Parkway between the Glenloch Interchange and south of Hindmarsh Drive.
• Permanent CCTV camera installed for incident detection and traffic monitoring at:
  • Cotter Road/Dargie Street/Kirkpatrick Street, Weston
  • Cotter Road/Tuggeranong Parkway Southbound Ramp, Curtin
  • Hindmarsh Drive/Streeton Drive, Stirling
