Belconnen


  • Kingsford Smith School: new speed humps on Hardwick Crescent along with a new children's crossing on Starke Street including the relocation of the refuge island and a new path connection.
  • Cranleigh School: new speed humps on Starke Street.
  • Evatt Primary School: new refuge island and asphalt speed hump on Heydon Crescent between Kissane Crescent and Kevin Street (east).
  • Giralang Primary School: a new footpath connection on Atalumba Close.
  • Kaleen Primary School: a new footpath on the desire line from the underpass on Maribyrnong Avenue to Kaleen Primary School.
  • St Michael’s Catholic Primary School: repair and realign existing pram ramps at the front of the school on Tyrell Circuit.

  • Erindale College: remove the existing rubber speed cushion and construct a new concrete speed cushion on McBryde Crescent between Wynne Street and Denigan Street.
  • Gilmore Primary School: new speed humps and improved line marking on Heagney Crescent between Louisa Lawson Crescent and Henry Melville Crescent.
  • St Mary Mackillop College / Isabella Plains Early Childhood Centre: two children’s crossings have been converted to raised pedestrian crossings on Ellerston Avenue (between Collyburl Crescent and Drumston Street) and on Drumston Street (between Ellerston Avenue and Azalea Circuit). Two speed humps and a speed limit reduction to 50km/h have been instated on Ellerston Avenue from its intersections with Ashley Drive and Johnson Drive as well as on Narooma Street south of its intersection with Drakeford Drive.
  • St Clare of Assisi Primary: speed humps on Box Hill Avenue.
  • Monash Primary School: a new children’s crossing on Clive Steele Avenue and speed humps at the roundabout Corlette Crescent.
  • Bonython Primary School: a new children's crossing and refuge island improvements.

Traffic calming treatments at: Ellerston Avenue between Johnson Drive and Ashley Drive (includes sections of Drumston Street and Noorooma Street)

Wayfinding signage

Blue stencils were installed along paths to provide wayfinding signage to local schools. The stencils give families the peace of mind the route to school is safe and easy to follow.

Minor improvements

  • St Matthew’s Primary School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Chewings Street between Ross Smith Crescent and Stutchbury Street. Existing faded signage will be replaced on surrounding streets and line marking redone. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight.
  • Macquarie Primary School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Bennelong Crescent near Erskine Street. This includes replacement of the existing posts and associated flags, existing faded signage will be replaced and line marking redone. Existing school zone signage will also be replaced by fluorescent signs.
  • Majura Primary School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Knox Street at the Windeyer Street roundabout. Existing line marking will be removed and redone, existing posts and associated flags replaced, faded signage replaced and tree/vegetation trimming to improve line of sight. Existing bike lane symbols will be refreshed as well.
  • Rosary Primary School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Higinbotham Street. Existing faded signage will be replaced on surrounding streets, existing posts and associated flags replaced and line marking redone. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight. Redundant bus stop line marking will be removed.
  • Turner Primary School: improvements within the school zone on Condamine Street. The line marking on  raised crossings will be repainted. Redundant signage, including posts, will be removed and faded signage replaced.
  • Telopea Park School: improvements within the school zone on New South Wales Crescent. Redundant children’s crossing signage and associated posts will be removed and new pedestrian crossings line marked. Redundant signage will be removed and existing faded signage replaced. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight. Existing school zone signage will be replaced by fluorescent signs.
  • Wanniassa Hills Primary: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Langdon Avenue. The line marking on asphalt speed humps will be repainted. Road line marking will be refreshed. Existing faded signage will be replaced on surrounding streets, existing posts and associated flags replaced and line marking redone.
  • Isabella Plains Early Childhood School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Ellerston Avenue. Existing faded signage will be replaced on surrounding streets, existing posts and associated flags replaced and line marking redone. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight.
  • Bonython Primary School: refresh the existing children’s crossing on Bardolph Street, near Morice Place. Existing faded signage will be replaced on surrounding streets and redundant signage removed. Existing children’s crossing posts and associated flags replaced and line marking redone. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight.
  • Calwell Primary School: improvements within the school zone on Downard Street between Casey Crescent and Tatchell Street. Line marking on the existing speed cushions, raised pedestrian crossing, pedestrian refuge and medians will be refreshed. Existing faded signage will be replaced and redundant signage removed. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight.
  • Lanyon High School: improvements within the school zone on Heidelberg Street. Includes the removal of redundant bus stop signage and refreshed line marking including medians and chevrons. The existing children’s crossing infrastructure will be replaced and faded signage replaced. Existing school zone signage will be replaced by fluorescent signs. Trees will be trimmed to improve line of sight.
