Design is underway on Palmerston shops improvements

In the 2025-26 ACT Budget, the ACT Government committed to improving shops across Canberra. This includes public space improvements at the Palmerston shops.

Established in the 1990s Palmerston shops in Gungahlin caters to everyday needs.

Surrounded by residential areas, the shops include a hairdresser, chemist, supermarket, takeaway and a medical centre.

The public space improvements at Palmerston shops will focus on increasing safety, access and amenity which may include footpath improvements, new street furniture, landscaping, lighting and bin shrouds.
