Project description

The ACT Government is committed to upgrading local shopping centre precincts across the city over the next four years, creating and protecting local jobs and supporting local businesses.

In 2021 the community provided feedback on designs for upgrades to these local shops. The community told us an improved look and feel including better landscaping, garden beds, more seating and increased safety and accessibility were important.

This project has delivered:

  • better car parking arrangements
  • new seating and shade structures
  • accessible paths of travel, including a new path linking Chauvel Street to the central laneway
  • better landscaping, including smaller plantings and natives
  • upgraded lighting.
