On Saturday 23 May 2026 a pop-up will be held at the local shops in Downer to share the proposed site location for the new toilet facility. The project team will be available to answer your questions.

Project description

Design is underway on Downer shops toilet.

Design is underway for a new toilet facility at the Downer local shops on Frencham Place. The new toilet facility is planned to be built between the local shops at Frencham Place and the playing field. The proposed location will ensure accessibility, passive surveillance and user safety.

The new toilet facility will include a unisex accessible toilet with baby change table. It will allow people to stay longer at the shops and enjoy more time outdoors in their local neighbourhood.

This project is one of the new and upgraded community facilities and infrastructure planned for our city that was funded in the 2025-26 ACT Budget.
