The public spaces at the Chisholm shops will be improved.

Preliminary planning is currently underway. Once complete, design work will begin.

We look forward to sharing a concept design with the community in the first half of 2027.

Project description

Planning is underway on Chisholm shops public space improvements.

In the 2026-27 ACT Budget, the ACT Government committed to improving shops across Canberra. This includes public space upgrades at the Chisholm shops.

The Chisholm shops in Canberra’s south sit just off the Monaro Highway and are a convenient one stop shop for daily needs. The shops include a gym, post office, chemist, cafes, car wash, a butcher and more.

This project will improve public spaces around the shops. Works may include new seating, lighting, crossings and car park improvements, paving or landscaping.
