Naas Road Bridge

Project description

The new Naas Road bridge across the Gudgenby River was completed in early 2022.

Bridge load standards have been increasing over time to cater for the increased size in approved heavy vehicles and as a result some of our bridges in the ACT need to be upgraded.

The new concrete bridge is two lanes wide, replacing the old one-lane timber bridge, strengthening it to cater to the increased size in approved heavy vehicles. The new bridge has been built to cater to the increased bridge load standards, not only allowing it to carry B-double trucks but also ensuring better access for Parks and Emergency Services crews when dealing with incidents at Namadgi.
