Project description

Planning is underway on the Tuggeranong skatepark upgrade.

The ACT Government is undertaking a feasibility study for a full upgrade to Tuggeranong skatepark, one of Canberra’s most popular skate facilities.

Built in the mid-1990s and officially opened in 1995, the skatepark is now aging and requires renewal to meet current standards and community needs.

Following a community petition in 2022, the ACT Government committed to undertaking a feasibility study to explore options for a full upgrade of the skatepark.

The feasibility study will consider:

  • new and upgraded skate facilities
  • integrated elements for street skating
  • improved opportunities for BMX, scooting and other wheeled sports
  • ways to enhance accessibility and usability for all skill levels

The feasibility study will help inform concept design options for a future upgrade. The ACT Government will engage with key stakeholders during the feasibility and design stages.

Detailed design and construction are subject to future funding.

This work aligns with broader ACT Government initiatives to improve recreational infrastructure and support active lifestyles across Canberra.
