Duffy shopping centre upgrades

Complete: Duffy shopping centre upgrades.

Project description

The ACT Government is committed to upgrading local shopping centre precincts across the city over the next four years, creating and protecting local jobs and supporting local businesses.

In 2021 the community provided feedback on designs for upgrades to these local shops. The community told us an improved look and feel including better landscaping, native plantings, an improved play space and more shade were important.

Completed works include:

  • new playground, including an accessible nest swing, nature play elements, rockers as well as a rope bridge and climbing equipment
  • two new shade sails and rubber softfall
  • bike track
  • new toilet
  • outdoor furniture including an undercover picnic table and bench seating
  • accessible paths of travel, including a new ramped path to improve access from Burrinjuck Crescent to the local shops
  • better landscaping including native and deciduous trees, and 60 shrubs.
  • increased amenity with new bins and a bike rack.
