Meet Shadow, a gentle older gentleman looking for a calm and understanding home where he can enjoy his golden years. Shadow is an independent dog who prefers to move at his own pace, often content exploring his surroundings and having a good sniff rather than seeking constant attention. While he may not be overly demanding, he still enjoys companionship on his own terms and will thrive with a patient owner who respects his space. Shadow does show some signs that may indicate age-related changes to his vision or hearing, as he can occasionally appear unaware of his surroundings or slow to respond. For this reason, he would do best in a quiet, stable environment with a predictable routine to help him feel safe and settled. He is suited to a single-pet home with children aged 12 years and older who understand how to interact calmly and respectfully. Shadow will require a property with secure fencing over 6ft, and access to both indoors and outdoors—even when his owners are away—to help him remain relaxed and comfortable as he can be vocal at times. Although older, Shadow still benefits from a semi-active lifestyle. Daily gentle exercise and playtime, especially games of ball which he enjoys, will help maintain his physical health and mobility. Shadow is not suitable for homes with cats and would prefer to be the only pet. With patience, care, and a loving environment, Shadow has the potential to settle in beautifully and enjoy a peaceful, happy retirement.
