Additional or upgraded bin request

Additional green bin collection

Please note: the additional opt-in green bin collection commenced in December 2025.

Additional or upgraded bin(s)

The standard bin allocation for a residence is a 140 litre general waste bin (wheelie bin with a red lid) and a 240 litre recycling bin (wheelie bin with a yellow lid) and an opt-in 240 litre green garden waste (wheelie bin with a green lid).

The additional or upgraded bin request form is used to request an additional or upgraded general waste or recycling bin, and/or a new green garden waste bin or additional green garden waste bin.

Additional or upgraded general waste, recycling and additional or second green garden waste services are invoiced every July for the financial year. See the fees and charges section of the Forms and fees page  for more information.

An additional bin is one that is additional to the standard allocation. For example, you can request an additional general waste or recycling bin of the same size as the standard allocation. You can also request one extra green garden waste bin in addition to your standard green garden waste bin.

An upgraded bin is one that is larger in size than the standard allocation. For example, the standard 140 litre general waste bin may be upgraded to a 240 litre general waste bin, or the standard 240 litre recycling bin may be upgraded to a 360 litre recycling bin. In this case, the standard bin will be replaced with the upgraded bin. Please note that an upgraded green garden waste bin is not available due to weight restrictions.

Residents are entitled to a maximum of 4 additional bins on top of their standard allocation. This includes up to three extra general waste or recycling bins in any combination, plus one additional green garden waste bin.

The additional and/or upgraded bins will be delivered within 5 working days from the approval of this form.

Important: The bin to be upgraded must be placed on the kerb by 7am on the day after you submit this form and left on the kerb until the request is complete. Our contractor is not allowed to cross the property boundary line and retrieve the bin from your carport, garage, behind gates or fences or any other area of your property.

For a multi-unit development with shared waste services: additional or upgraded general waste and recycling bins (wheelie bins or hoppers) or services can be requested via the request new bins form. Fees may apply.

To request a bin downgrade or removal, please use the downgrade bin form.
