The final landscape plans for the play space facilities, toilet and ramp have been released. Construction procurement is underway with work anticipated to commence in the first quarter of 2027.

Project description
Design is complete on Margaret Timpson Park improvements.
The ACT Government recognises the critical role and value of play in enriching the lives of Canberrans of all ages and creating a healthy, connected, vibrant and sustainable Canberra.
In 2024 the ACT Government committed to upgrade Margaret Timpson Park, with funding support from the Australian Government.
Named after a prominent advocate for women’s rights, Margaret Timpson Park is a one-hectare green space in the heart of the Belconnen Town Centre.
The park is a valued public space for relaxation, recreation and social interaction.
It is surrounded by a mix of commercial and residential developments, making it a well-frequented area by families, office workers, and shoppers.

- New BBQ, shelter and picnic area including a table
- New playground including a nest swing and rope pyramid
- Shade sail
- New landscaping, planting and trees
- More seating
- Table tennis
- New lighting and paving
- Accessible ramp on the northern edge of the park
