Project description
Complete: Gungahlin memorial hall and condolence lounge.
Gungahlin Cemetery opened in 1979 and features a large lake, native habitat for wildlife as well as landscaping. It provides a beautiful final resting place.
It is the largest cemetery in Canberra and accommodates various faiths. It also provides the broadest range of burial, interment and memorial options out of all the cemeteries in the ACT. The current memorial hall and chapel were built in 1978 and extended in 1994 with new public toilets. The facility is aging and in need of an upgrade.
A new non-denominational memorial hall and condolence lounge has been built.
