Sportsgrounds - completed upgrades

The below projects have been completed in each region in recent years.

Some of these projects have been funded by or had funding contributed from the Australian Government.

Belconnen

  • Aranda District Playing Fields: The changerooms have been given a female-friendly upgrade and the entire roof structure is currently being replaced
  • Charnwood District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Kaleen Enclosed Oval: Fencing replacement
  • Kaleen 1 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Hawker District Playing Fields: Drainage improvements, new irrigation pressure boosting system, female friendly pavilion upgrades, new LED sportsground floodlighting and lighting improvements for the car park.
  • Higgins Neighbourhood Oval: Drainage upgrades and upgraded LED sportsground floodlighting from 50 lux to 100 lux.
  • Holt 3 Enclosed Oval: Upgrade existing sportsground lighting
  • Holt District Playing Fields: Pavilion upgrade inclusive of ‘female friendly’ improvements
  • Holt District Playing Fields (existing neighbourhood oval): The unused playing fields in the south-eastern corner of the precinct was reactivated for future competition standard training and match play. This includes the installation of irrigation, sportsground lighting, appropriate turf installation and a new pavilion
  • Melba District Playing Field: Pavilion upgrades have been majority completed with the removal of the canteen facility and installation of 2 accessible toilet facilities. Permanent shipping container canteen to be provided. The pavilion open for weekend use.
  • Melba Neighbourhood Oval: New synthetic cricket pitch
  • Scullin neighbourhood ovals: New LED sportsground floodlighting to 100 lux

Central

  • Boomanulla Oval: Fencing replacement, water meter pit upgrade, female friendly pavilion upgrade and new LED sportsground floodlighting
  • Deakin District Playing Fields: LED sportsground floodlighting upgraded to 300 lux which allows for games of cricket to be played at night
  • Deakin 2 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Griffith Neighbourhood Oval: Upgrades to the irrigation water meter pit
  • Hackett Neighbourhood Oval: Full pavilion refurbishment
  • Kingston Oval: pavilion upgrade inclusive of ‘female friendly’ improvements
  • O’Connor District Playing Fields: Full pavilion refurbishment including female friendly upgrades, a new toilet facility, cricket curators shed and water refill station
  • O'Connor 3 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Narrabundah 1 and 2 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrades
  • Narrabundah 3 (velodrome): Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Watson Neighbourhood Oval: New LED sportsground lighting
  • Woden Park Enclosed Oval: New accessible changeroom
  • Yarralumla Neighbourhood Oval: Female friendly pavilion upgrade

Gungahlin

  • Amaroo District Playing Fields: female friendly pavilion upgrade, new LED sportsground floodlighting and new irrigation pressure boosting system
  • Bonner Neighbourhood Oval: installation of a new irrigation pressure boosting system and new LED sportsground floodlighting
  • Ngunnawal Neighbourhood Oval: New and upgraded irrigation, new parking (inclusive of accessible parking), sportsground floodlighting and installation of a toilet block.
  • Nicholls District Playing Fields: female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Nicholls 3 Enclosed Oval: drainage improvements and new LED sportsground floodlighting
  • Taylor District Playing Fields: installation of four new cricket net bays

Tuggeranong

  • Calwell District Playing Fields: new irrigation pressure boosting system
  • Gordon District Playing Fields: Pavilion rebuild is complete.
  • Gordon Oval: Two new portable grandstands.
  • Gowrie District Playing Fields: Upgraded LED sportsground floodlighting to 100 lux.
  • Greenway Enclosed Oval: female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Kambah District Playing Fields: female friendly pavilion upgrades including one full pavilion upgrade at Kambah 3 and LED sportsground lighting
  • Wanniassa 2 District Playing Fields: female friendly pavilion upgrade

Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley

  • Chapman Oval: Water meter pit upgrade
  • Curtin District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade, water meter pit upgrade and replacement of the existing irrigation system.
  • Mawson 1 and 2 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade and LED sportsground lighting upgrades
  • Pearce 2 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Phillip Enclosed Oval: Shade structures over seating areas and new BBQ area
  • Rivett Neighbourhood Oval: Female friendly pavilion upgrade and water meter pit upgrade.
  • Stirling Enclosed Oval: Water meter pit upgrade, full pavilion upgrade and new LED sportsground lighting upgrades.
  • Stirling 1 District Playing Fields: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
  • Woden Park Enclosed Oval: Female friendly pavilion upgrade
