New cultural artwork entry features at Gundaroo Drive


The ACT Government has completed works to install new cultural artwork features on Gundaroo Drive.

New suburb signage featuring native animals has been installed at the entries to Giralang and McKellar.

Four gathering circles featuring art by a local landscape architect and Bagariin Ngunnawal Cultural Consulting have also been built at the entries to Owen Dixon Drive, Baldwin Drive, Ginninderra Drive and the McKellar wetlands. Local Ngunnawal elders were consulted and also endorsed the designs.

Each entry concept represents native flora and fauna and cultural elements that were present within the McKellar/Giralang region prior to European settlement.

Each yarning circle includes seating around a central art feature and connects to the nearby path network for easy access.

New landscaping was planted around the entry features to help the new features sit better into the surrounding natural landscape.
