Sutton Road bridge structure repairs


In March 2026 strengthening repair work will begin at 5 bridge structures along Sutton Road.

3 of the bridge structures will be strengthened to make them safer and 2 bridge structures will be fully replaced. See the map of the bridge repair work (JPG 454.7 KB).

Work is expected to be complete by the end of July 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

Changed traffic arrangements

To facilitate the works there will be temporary changed traffic arrangements.

Single lane closures will be in place and traffic will be managed with temporary traffic lights.

To complete the works as quickly as possible, multiple repairs may be underway at the same time.

We are aware that Sutton Road is a busy route and widely used by heavy vehicles. These works will cause minor delays, and we appreciate your patience while works are underway to increase safety and strengthen these bridge structures.
