Impounded dogs
The impounded dogs list shows dogs currently impounded at the Domestic Animal Services facility. Some of the dogs have been handed in during the last 7 days and are still waiting for their owners to collect them.
Once a dog is impounded it is listed online and held for at least 7 business days depending on whether it was surrendered or roaming. The dog is checked by a veterinarian and given basic medical care. This includes being vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped (if needed).
After 7 days, the dogs behaviour is assessed. Dogs who have passed the assessment and are in good health are removed from the impounded dogs list and added to the adoptable dogs page.
