Waste educational signs, posters, brochures and guides
These resources are designed to educate ACT residents living in apartment buildings on correct sorting and disposal of their recycling, waste and garden organics.
Strata and building managers, owners corporation committees or other representative bodies can request these resources free of charge.
Please complete the online order form below. Ordered resources need to be collected from the JJ’s Waste & Recycling office in Hume.
Resources can also be downloaded and printed to be placed in common areas or distributed electronically to residents.
Purpose: wall signage for internal or external bin areas in multi-unit developments. This will educate and help residents to sort their waste and recycle correctly. Not suitable for houses.
How to use: Order up to 3 of each A1 signs per bin room.
Install on the walls where bins are stored. Install at eye level or high enough so they are not covered when bin lids are open. Install signs directly above the correct bin.

Purpose: for apartment buildings with landfill and/or recycling chutes or with recycling bin rooms on each floor. This will educate residents to use chutes correctly and help prevent chute blockages.
How to use: install chute signs above or near chute doors, at eye level. In buildings with recycling bin rooms on each floor, A2 recycling signs are recommended.

Purpose: for residents in apartment buildings. Brochures include waste and recycling tips and information about waste services.
How to use: distribute hard copies in resident mailboxes or in welcome packs for new tenants. Electronic copies can be shared via resident portals or online groups.

Purpose: to remind residents about correct waste and recycling disposal. Not suitable for outdoors.
How to use: place posters on walls in common areas such as indoor bin areas, foyers or lifts. Install at eye level or where they will not be covered when bin lids are open.
These can be downloaded for free and printed as required.
