Recycling drop off centres - your excess recycling sorted

Excess household recycling including glass bottles and jars, aluminium and steel cans, paper and flat cardboard can be dropped off at these sites. Sharps are accepted at all sites, excluding Gungahlin.

The centres are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • What can I drop off?

    Glass, metal and rigid plastic containers and packaging can be placed in the hoppers at the recycling drop off centre.

    Flattened cardboard can be placed in the paper cages at the recycling drop off centre.

    What can't I drop off?

    Polystyrene, soft plastics and landfill waste are not accepted at these facilities. CCTV cameras operate 24 hours a day. Fines apply for illegal dumping.

    Recycling drop off centres (and other waste and recycling facilities) are also located at Mugga Lane and Mitchell Resource Management Centres (7:30 am - 5:00 pm, 7 days a week. Closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day).

    Illegal dumping is dropping litter in any public place. This includes dumping polystyrene, soft plastic and mattresses next to the hoppers and paper cages at recycling drop off centres. CCTV cameras operate 24 hours a day. Fines apply for illegal dumping.
