Information for commercial operators
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must provide approval for disposal of materials such as:
- Soil removed from construction and demolition projects
- Contaminated soil
Complete the Notice of Application or Approval for Disposal to Landfill form. The EPA will advise where to dispose of the material.

Mugga 2 Quarry
- Mugga 2 Quarry accepts the following material (no other material is accepted):
- Virgin Excavated Natural Materials - VENM
- Beneficial Reuse Material - BRU
- Asbestos Contaminated Material - ACM
- Mugga 2 Quarry is operated by REMONDIS and is open Monday to Friday. An appointment is required.
- To book an appointment, complete the disposal application form on the REMONDIS website and phone 137373 or email canberra@remondis.com.au. Please allow 48 hours notice.
- An ACT NoWaste commercial waste credit account is required for Mugga 2 Quarry disposals. To apply for an account, complete the ACT NoWaste Commercial Waste Credit form or contact the team on email CED_NWNoWasteSystems@act.gov.au

These businesses also provide disposal services for some Virgin Excavated Natural Materials (soil, lawn turf, gravel, sand, clay, rock fines, potting mix, and uncontaminated soil) and some types of contaminated soil (topsoil or soil with organic matter).
