Bulky waste collections

Bulky-WasteCanberra wide rollout of bulky waste service

A free household bulky waste collection service will be rolled out across the ACT from July 2020 to provide households with a convenient and accessible way to dispose of bulky unwanted items.

Households in Tuggeranong and Gungahlin will be the first to receive the service, with the rollout schedule across the ACT as follows:

It is proposed that households will receive a single collection per year of up to two cubic metres for items including damaged furniture and worn out household appliances. The allowance for multi-unit developments may differ depending on their size and ability to safely store and collect the bulky waste material.

More information on the bulky waste collection service will be provided closer to the commencement date.

Residents can also visit the Recyclopaedia to find out how to correctly recycle or dispose of specific items.
