Stay updated on our Suburban Infrastructure Program which is delivering better suburbs for Canberra.

The ACT Government worked closely with the Canberra community through the Better Suburbs Citizens' Forum to set priorities for the delivery of Canberra’s city services. This collaborative community decision-making helped shape and guide how the ACT Government delivers essential services like waste, stormwater, trees, roads, libraries, parks and playgrounds.

Since the Citizens’ Forum provided its advice to government, we have been progressively adapting our approach to align with the feedback we heard through this process.

A rolling process is underway to implement the Statement’s directions as we move towards a more resilient and sustainable future for Canberra’s city services. We are progressively adjusting our investment in each Budget round so that over time it aligns with the priorities and focus areas outlined in the Better Suburbs Statement.
